Cartoon is a term that once referred to fine art during the renaissance period. Somehow, though, the term’s meaning evolved (or devolved, depending on how you look at it) into humorous and witty illustrations and, finally, into animated programs meant to entertain people, mostly children. For, clarity, the term ‘cartoon’ in this article shall be referring to the animated programs. Recently, however, a new term has been coined: Anime. And the distinction between these two has caused much confusion.
Strictly speaking though, there should be no distinction between anime and cartoon. Anime is a term used by the Japanese to refer to animated cartoons, from their own country and from others as well. Somehow, though, the world started using the term anime in reference to Japanese cartoons exclusively. Japanese animation was once called japanimation, but this term was aptly discarded when the term ‘Anime’ was put into use.
Some say that they see absolutely no difference between the two, even going so far as to classify both cartoons and anime as ‘childish’ because of the nature of how they are presented, much to the woe of anime fans. Technically, there’s no official difference and they are somewhat correct. But you only have to watch a single episode of any anime series and you’ll see that anime is far more than your usual slapstick comedy man-tripping-on-a-banana-peal early morning cartoons. There is a real and profound difference between the two besides their spellings: Anime is so much more than ‘just a cartoon’.
Storylines/Plots
Cartoons usually have a simple and defined plot. And they’re usually about the good guys fighting the bad guys. Cartoons rarely go beyond that old cliché. Most Anime series, on the other hand, are also about the same good vs. evil but the plots are rarely simple and rarely predictable. You’ll find an element of politics, religion, humanity, and a score of several other abstract concepts within an anime. Whereas cartoons are just about ‘evil’ cats chasing ‘innocent’ mice or a hero defending himself and others from a very evil bully. Anime can blur the lines between good and evil so much that you’ll be left wondering which side is really right. Look at the plot of Gundam, there aren’t any good guys or bad guys. They’re both fighting for a cause – a worthy one, and both sides are prepared to do good and evil to achieve their goals. Look at the Wave Country arc of Naruto which is now at Naruto Shippuden. Zabuza, evil as he was, had evoked more sympathetic tears than any of the typical Disney antagonists. There are, however, few exceptions to the ‘cartoons are simple’ rule. There are cartoon series that are far advanced like X-men.
In terms of humor, anime goes beyond the slapstick comedy that cartoons offer. There won’t be any corny joke about the chicken crossing the road with anime. There won’t even be the quintessential banana peal. Anime humor is deep and witty. However, it is to be noted that cartoons are mostly for kids. Anime can be for an adult audience; it mostly is, actually. There are even times when anime plots are hardly suited for children.
Characters
In cartoons, there’s a protagonist, an antagonist, and a damsel in distress. Their roles are well-defined and clear and the characters always act according to their roles. In anime, however, the damsel in distress may very well become the antagonist, leaving the protagonist in distress. There’s no knowing what to expect in anime. Anime characters, a lot of times, are developed overtime through trials and growth, while cartoon characters remain the same from when the show started. (Of course, there are exceptions such as Spiderman.) Since there’s an ongoing plot, Anime characters actually grow up and may even produce the next generation for the series. Anime fans tend to get into the characters a lot deeper because of the characters’ depth and charm. Consider Naruto; viewers see him growing up from an infant to a young powerful ninja, the way he relates to people, the way he learns new techniques, and the way he evolves visually. That is one of the chief reasons for popularities of anime over plain cartoons.

Does it surprise you that there are so many people who make anime the center of their lives? Just as cigarettes and alcohol can be addicting, anime can be addicting too. People who are addicted to anime, however, are termed as otaku, anime otaku, to be exact. There are people who do nothing all day but watch anime, think about anime, theorize about anime, collect anime, squeal about anime, and dream about anime. Well, not really but they still do a lot of stuff that are not related to anime, but you get the point. They’re totally and undeniably addicted to anime and who can blame them? Anime is just about one of the most addicting things in the world. But what makes it so addicting?
As a self-confessed anime addict, I’ll have to say that there are several reasons why anime is so addicting.
Characters
The first, and probably the most compelling reason of all, is the sheer beauty by which the makers create their characters. Out of all cartoons in the world, it is only in Japanese anime that I have seen such well rounded and realistic characters that are so distinctly human. Anime does not delude the viewers into thinking that someone can be perfect. The heroes and heroines in anime, beautiful as they may be, have their own flaws and insecurities. They’re not like the princesses in the cartoon fairy tales who are epitomes of grace and goodness, and are thereby incredibly flat and drab. Anime heroes and heroines are human, and their humanity makes them all the more interesting.
Also, because they each have their own personalities, we’re sure to find at least one character in every show with whom we can relate with and empathize with. And this is one of the biggest reasons why we get hooked in anime versus American cartoons because we’re always trying to find out what’s going to happen with our favorite characters.
Plots
The plots in anime are just as much reason to get addicted as the characters themselves. Anime Series are almost always gifted with great plots. The plots are seldom ever watered down to suit the audience, thus never undermining the intelligence of the viewers as some of the other cartoon series do. They anime makers can dish out the most elaborate plots and never worry whether anyone will understand whether they will be understood or not – after all, anime is not simply a franchise, it’s a form of art, and if people don’t understand it today. Then maybe the people of tomorrow will.
Anime plots are always suffused with a sufficient amount of suspense, drama, intrigue, politics, and enough twists and turns to leave your jaw hanging. And not only that, they’re usually deep and always have a lesson attached to them.
Animation
Okay, let’s not deny it. Part of the reason why we watch anime is because it simply looks amazing. Take for example Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, although they are in 2D format, sometimes they are drawn even better then the ones that are created in 3D. Given two choices for the general public to pick; to watch Naruto or to watch Shrek 3D my bet is most would choose to watch Naruto. Those overly large eyes, those gravity defying hairstyles, those weirder than weird clothes; they’re simply perfect and enough to make anyone keep coming back for more. The artistic amazement is just none stop however you look at it.

This comic was so amazing that I had to read it for a second time, well I’m on my third, (trust me).For people who need the rating here it is "Rated “T” for “Teen”.Naruto, Vol. 44 (entitled Senjutsu Heir) begins with a major of one of the aftermath~s in the plot.I would tell you more about it but I am not going to spoile it for you guys and girls out there.Anyways, the plot of this comic book really brings out the plot of the whole anime/manga if you ask me.
On top of that, its really cool on how This great volume includes a set of four exclusive stickers.(they are cool trust me, there better then the other ones.)If i had to grade this or score it like, one thought ten. There is no way it wouldn`t be a ten.If you trust me, or if your getting eceited about this book then go get a copy now. (Naruto, Volume. 44 "entitled Senjutsu Heir")

hello, today i want to talk to you about one of the best ways to get anime news or even anime updates (like about your favorite animes out there)and some things like that.To me the number one thing I mean the number one thing is to go to some good anime forums let me explain a little ok,its like this when you sign up for some anime forums you get to:
1.voice your opinion or opinions for that fact.
2.get the latest news about all different types of anime
3. Debate about all the hot topics and much more (trust me)
now here comes the big question “what type of forums should i sign up for?”well you can sign up for anyone you want it really doesn`t matter.they could be big, small, popular – unpopular, its totally up to you (trust me i mean it its your choice).BUT, I would recommand a great forum to at least check out here it is this forum http://animelovers411.forumotions.com/forum.htm At this moment it is on the the little side but, its a wonderful place if you ask me. Here are some good reasons why a small forum (I think is better then a big forum):
1.When you post it will not be buryed after a couple of minutes(if you know what i mean)
2.its also way easyer to make friends on it (if you like that you dont have to)
3.On top of that it is easyer to be come a mod and things
TIP:
when going on anime forums make the best signatures every to symbolize your self people like to see that
So, anyway I hope now you see that is isn`t the worse to sign up with small forums. Also on top of all that evently it will become a bigger forum because every post you post on the topics and forum it will help grow that forum. If I was you I would go with the smaller forums because to me it feel like the community is closer together and that the people on it (the anime forum) really listen to you.I dont know f it is just me but thats what I think. So, thats it I think 100 % that the best way of getting Anime and manga news and updates and stuff is going thourgh anime and manga forums(I think smaller is better)
Here are 5 ways and 5 sites that can help you watch anime online try some of these tips and enjoy.Trust me the answers is not always going to on the bigger sites lke youtube but remmber you are still going to have to “google it” if these 5 ways and 5 sites or tips dont work but i am going to try and not make that happen.Anyway, here we go.
Five ways
1.first, make sure that you know what anime your looking for,Some people want to jump right into it when they don`t even have a anime to start with.
2.Now, remember that its possible that all of the episodes might not be on that one site,so you need to keep that in the back of your mind.
3 I would look for at least 4 of the episode before you start watching it , Trust me you do not want to watch the first five episodes and then you can not find the 6th episode so then you have to start googling it again that can take hours.
4.if you want the full effect of the anime feel try hooking your computer or laptop to a tv with a cable and get the real feel of it.(works better for people with a laptop)
5.most important find a anime that you like, you would hate to watch a anime online but, you real hate it .need help on finding a good anime
Five sites
1. one site I would recommand is veoh.com these site has channels and much more I found most of the animes I wanted I hope this helps.
